The Extra Mile is no ordinary sports memoir. But Kevin Sinfield is no ordinary sportsman.

A one-club legend of Leeds Rhinos who crossed codes to coach the England national rugby union team, Sinfield is a rugby icon. But in recent years, he has shown heroism of a very different kind through his extraordinary fundraising for motor neurone disease (MND), inspired by his best mate and former teammate Rob Burrow.

Sinfield's epic challenges have included running seven ultramarathons in seven days and running over 101 miles in 24 hours. His extraordinary efforts have captured the hearts of the nation and helped raise over £13 million for charity.

Now the subject of the new BBC One documentary Thank You Sir Kev, featuring Prince William, Sinfield has become a national figure whose extraordinary friendship, determination and commitment to helping others have inspired millions.

Told with Sinfield's characteristic warmth, dry wit and inspirational leadership, The Extra Mile is the story of an astonishing life, an enduring friendship and perseverance in the face of the most difficult challenges. Above all, it is the story of a remarkable and humble human being who has shown what it really means to go the extra mile for someone else.
