Román vypráví o světě na konci tohoto tisíciletí.Celý svět stojí na pokraji války a na smyšleném ostrově v Tichomoří pracuje geniální vědec doktor Mortimer Dart na vývoji lidské podrasy. Tento román jsem četla jako malá holka a popravdě můžu říct, že to byla první kniha, kde jsem se moc bála :-)
