Popis

This book is an interpretation of Heidegger's philosophical thought and related texts from different perspectives, including his exploration of central themes such as practical philosophy, philosophy of life, and nihilism. Its goal is to make Heidegger alive and to reveal what he means for the history of thought and even for our modern life. At the same time the author always believes that to understand Heidegger, it is necessary to reveal the universal and radical questions to which his philosophy responds. Wang's work is a major enrichment of Heidegger scholarship: the book is concisely oriented around key questions - for example, whether Heidegger developed a practical philosophy, or whether all metaphysics can be traced back to forgetfulness of Being. Wang also enters into dialogue with Heidegger interpreters and contemporaries, such as Jaspers, Gadamer, and among the younger ones, Volpi. In this concise form, the book is unique, suitable both for readers who are engaging with Heidegger for the first time and for seasoned experts on his thought: a masterful achievement.Prof. Dr. Harald Seubert, President of the Martin Heidegger Society until 2025 Wang Hongjian's essays on Heidegger's philosophy offer a fascinating and important contribution to Heidegger scholarship. Through the lens of an "ontology of practice" they illuminate core aspects of his thought, while skillfully advancing beyond Heidegger in the direction of a practical hermeneutics and an intercultural dialogue with the East. These essays are highly recommended for readers who want to learn about Heidegger's philosophy and its deep roots in Greek thought.Prof. Dr. Karl Kraatz, Editor-in-Chief of Eksistenz
