Na tejto knihe som si užívala viacej Hemingwayov štýl písania, než dej samotný. Moc sa mi páčil, nestáva sa mi často, aby ma tak ohúril spôsob autorovho písania. Veľa spravil určite aj preklad :)

Ohavnosti války jsou v této knize vyváženy romantickou zápletkou. Kniha se dobře čte díky častým dialogům, takže vše ubíhá a jedná se o fajn čtení.

Zjistila jsem, že pokud jde o válečné romány, baví mě víc příběhy ,,obyčejných vojáků" než velících důstojníků. Přesto mi hlavní hrdina přirostl k srdci. Catherine už tolik ne. První, akčnější polovina knihy (bez Catherine) mě bavila mnohem víc než ta druhá, romantičtější polovina. I když oceňuji styl psaní, je to jedna z klasik, které si podruhé nepřečtu.
