Upon arrival at her new boarding school, The Brakem Academy, 8 year old Beatrice Bollingbrook-Drivelington is welcomed by the headmaster, Dr Bruit, an ogre of a man who ruled with an iron fist. The children escape, stealing Captain Murderer''s pride and joy, the ship The Bloodbath. Twelve year olds Sam Skull and Katy Crossbones captain the crew of misfit children in the 1700s. Branded pirates by the British government, the kids sail the seven seas in search of adventure and, of course, mountains of treasure. Discovering a map left behind by Captain Murderer, the new crew of The Bloodbath follow a perilous treasure trail that leads them to deadly danger on and under the sea. Hot on their stern sails a mix of the most diabolical villains the world has ever known, plus Captain Algernon Righteous of the British navy who is determined to bring the children to justice and execution.
