Naprosto úžasná kniha, která stojí za přečtení. Dalo by se říci, že jednotlivé povídky dohromady skládají obraz Dublinu a jeho obyvatel 20. století. Není to jednoduchá kniha, ale pod svým povrchem skrývá hluboký obsah.

Oddechové čtení na dva večery, některé povídky nejsou tak jasné, jiné Vám navodí příjemnou atmosféru světa, jenž netuší, že ho čeká Velká válka. Je to zajímavý vhled, téměř drobnohled, do špinavých uliček, ale i navoněných dam a pánů v obleku.
