Author Till-Holger Borchert, an expert in Netherlandish art, guides us through this popular painter’s work in clear and accessible language, and from less-familiar and even surprising angles. Till-Holger Borchert is a German-born art historian and director of the Bruges Museums. A specialist in Netherlandish art of the fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, he has curated a series of important exhibitions, including Memling’s Portraits, which traveled from Bruges to the Frick Collection, New York, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, Madrid. He is the author also of Van Eyck in Detail in the same series.
