Popis

Never before have so many guitars been profiled within a single illustrated volume. 1001 Guitars To Dream Of Playing Before You Die explores in detail the greatest instruments from across the globe: some are of historical or cultural significance and some were made famous by well-known musicians; others are included as examples of technological breakthroughs, innovative design, or extraordinary sound quality. 1001 Guitars features classic names that are known to all-Fender, Roland, Martin, Gretsch, and Rickenbacker-as well as important Japanese brands such as Ibanez, Yamaha, and Teisco; European classics of the 1960s, including Burns, Hagstrom, Eko, and Hofner; obscure models from behind the Cold War "Iron Curtain" such as Defil, Aelita, Resonet, and Musima; and present-day oil-can guitars built in South Africa. Plus many more illustrious models besides. The book includes a striking color photograph of each guitar, which is accompanied by illuminating text that traces the guitar's history and reveals which well-known musicians like to play the instrument as well as the albums on which it can be heard. 1001 Guitars to Play Before You Die is a visually stunning catalogue and will make a fascinating read for guitar aficionados, guitar players, and even those with only a passing interest in the guitar.
