The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy

The inspiration for the acclaimed five-part Amazon Original docuseries Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer, this updated and expanded edition of The Phantom Prince presents Elizabeth Kendall's unforgettable account of her six-year relationship with one of America's most notorious serial killers.

Features a new introduction and afterword by the author, never-before-seen photographs, and a powerful new chapter from Elizabeth's daughter, Molly Kendall, who shares her own perspective for the first time.

Ted Bundy remains one of the most publicized serial killers in American history. Yet the voices of the women whose lives were intertwined with his—the people who loved him, trusted him, and struggled to reconcile the man they knew with the crimes he committed—have too often been overlooked. The Phantom Prince offers a rare and deeply personal perspective on Bundy from someone who shared her daily life with him for years.

First published in 1981, Elizabeth Kendall's memoir chronicles the evolution of their relationship, the growing suspicions and unanswered questions, and the devastating realization of the truth. With remarkable honesty and insight, she examines how charisma, manipulation, and deception can conceal unimaginable darkness.

This expanded edition also includes Molly Kendall's moving reflections on growing up with Bundy as a father figure and the lasting impact his presence had on her life. Together, their stories transform The Phantom Prince from a true-crime classic into a powerful account of survival, resilience, and the complicated legacy left behind by one of the most infamous crimes of the twentieth century.

"The Phantom Prince is both surreal and brave. Elizabeth Kendall and her daughter Molly share their remarkable personal experience of trauma and courage as it played out in the shadows of perhaps the most devastating true crime story of our time." — Trish Wood, producer/director of Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer
