American artist Liz Craft creates sculptures and figurative installations that appear like fragments in space. They tell dreamlike stories and conjure an atmosphere associated with surrealism, fairy tales, or drug-induced hallucinations. For her art, Craft mainly draws on ideas from American counterculture of the 1960s, psychedelic experiences, and pop culture. She borrows images from B movies, Westerns, and horror films, as well as comic strips and theme park aesthetics.

This first comprehensive monograph on Liz Craft in more than 15 years offers a deep insight into her artistic evolution over two decades. Numerous illustrations document recent works in various contexts. Two supplementing essays and a conversation with the artist explore and reflect on the diverse themes and techniques she applies.
