Manga comics

 Manga – The Japanese Comic

Manga, or "whimsical drawings," is extremely popular in Japan, not only among children but also adults. Up to 40% of all printed publications in Japan are manga. The phenomenon, however, is beginning to catch on here as well. The manga drawing style is characterized by several features – large eyes, elaborate hairstyles, small, pointed noses, varying bubble sizes and shapes, and frequent use of onomatopoeia. Manga is printed in a single color and, importantly – it is read in the opposite direction – from right to left.

The history of manga dates back to the very beginnings of Japanese art. In Japan, manga comics are published in chapters in magazines, and if successful, the entire story is then released as a standalone book. Manga stories often serve as the basis for anime series and films, as well as video games and books. They bring the most fascinating stories in comic history to their fans.

We offer the best of what manga literature has to offer in Czech – whether it’s series like Jujutsu Kaisen, Alice in Borderland, The Apothecary Diaries, Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer or Nana.
