The origins of the UCC collection are discussed, the provenance of each stone outlined and each inscription is described and carefully considered. The last detailed study of this collection, The Ogham Stones, University College, Cork by Rev. Patrick Power was published in 1932. Damian McManus now presents a new reading of the inscriptions in light of the research conducted in the intervening years.
