Main thought: Et tu, Brute? <- a turning point in the story I wouldn't have expected in years to come... General review The start of the story was a bit, clunky, with what I'm used to reading but Mark didn't let me down. I've had the opportunity to read his other title "The book that wouldn't burn" and let me tell you this... I'm absolutely fangirling. (For both titles.) Make a hero face the worst, so he turns a villain, only to be a hero once more only to not do the chivalrous things everyone expects from heroes. This doesn't get enough showtime in ANY of the fantasy books I've read, let alone this closely. I've been entranced with how descriptive it is, and oh my, I loved it. The book is written in first person narrative, which might not be for everyone but is definitely worth it, after you get past the insight flashbacks that unload Jorg's history. It's a fast paced read all the while bridging around 5 years of Jorg's life (the past mainly through flashbacks).
