Dramaturgy and Research in Devised Theatre

The book deals with the research process and the role of the dramaturg in original non-interpretive theatre and consists of two parts. The Interviews chapter focuses on the creative process with an emphasis on the method of "devising" (collective authoring). In it, Synne Behrndt combines interviews with artists and theoretical perspectives to gather arguments for the claim that devising and performance are themselves research, and discusses the role of the dramaturg in this process. Sodja Zupanc Lotker's text describes theatre projects ranging from contemporary dance to drama to site-specific, audio projects, performative perfumes and performance auctions. These often begin with a theme, a question or an experience. He sees dramaturgy in this process as a dynamic process in which the project emerges to the audience. The performance is a kind of projection screen, offered to the audience for collaborative reflection, endless, constantly bringing new stimuli, new experiences. Dramaturgy is then the network of stimuli from which this thinking emerges. Kniha se zabývá výzkumným procesem a rolí dramaturga v autorském neinterpretačním divadle a sestává ze dvou částí. Kapitola Rozhovory se zaměřuje na tvůrčí proces s důrazem na metodu "devising" (kolektivní autorské tvorby). Synne Behrndt v ní propojuje rozhovory s umělci a teoretické pohledy, aby shromáždila argumenty k tvrzení, že devising a performance samy o sobě jsou výzkumem, a zabývá se rolí dramaturga v tomto procesu. Text Sodji Zupanc Lotker popisuje divadelní projekty v šíři od současného tance přes činohru až po site specific, audio projekty, performativní parfémy či aukce představení. Ty často započínají tématem, otázkou nebo zkušeností. Dramaturgii v tomto procesu chápe jako dynamický proces, v němž se projekt vyjevuje publiku. Performance je jakési projekční plátno, nabídnuté divákům ke společnému uvažování, nekonečné, neustále přinášející nové podněty, nové zkušenosti. Dramaturgie je pak síť podnětů, z nichž toto přemýšlení vzniká.
