A detailed glossary, bibliography and index conclude the book.

Linda Woolley was former curator in the Department of Textiles and Dress at the Victoria and Albert Museum.Lucy Johnston formerly curator of 19th-century fashion in the V&A’s Department of Furniture, Textiles & Fashion, is now a freelance costume and decorative arts consultant. Her published work includes Shoes, which she co-wrote with Linda Woolley.
