Three detective stories where the police are still unable to reach a final conclusion. Therefore, the cases are also solved, upon request, by a private detective, retired police officer, and lover of Prague pubs, Pavel Havránek, who does not use a gun, and whose methods are based more on intuition, logical reasoning, and wit than on the latest scientific methods. While searching for the perpetrators, he shares with us his opinions, his taste for Czech food, and especially Czech beer. Will he know what to do? Will he answer all seven basic criminal investigation questions while solving the mysteries? Who? What? When? Where? How? With what? Why? Will we be there when he reveals his modus operandi? In the first story, one participant dies at a garden party. Is it an accident or intentional? And who could be the potential murderer? What is the motive? There are several suspects. In the second story, Murder in the Office, the director of a department is found dead after a farewell party. Did one of the party guests kill him? A few days later, a second body is found in a nearby office. Are these deaths related? In the third story, Murder in the Village, the owner of a successful company dies in his country home. No other person was found to have been present at the time of death, but all evidence points to an unnatural death. What will be the solution? The book is intended primarily for readers of detective stories, but with its humorous touch, it will certainly appeal to a wider audience. It is a thrilling and entertaining read for long winter evenings and summer gatherings in the garden.
